I actually really like the first 2 seasons of TNG. There's a quaint nostalgia about them that I find very endearing and comforting. One of these was the Gates McFadden-directed "Genesis." This was the show's attempt at horror-based science fiction. I actually believe that the first 2 seasons of TNG are unique in their feel and execution, but I don't view them as "bad."
